From the opening track you are immediately struck by the poignant and compelling voice of Lisa. "Cow Cow Boogie" by many artists has been covered, but the performance on this CD you'll definitely feel happy. Fact that Lisa is also a good songwriter, is evident in her self written songs. Just listen to the lyrics such as' Jesus Rainbow "and" Doctor's Order. The choice for the song "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix in an acoustic version to bring is brave. Partly due to the contribution of guest musicians such as Michael J. Ronstadt (mandolin), Ted Ramirez (ukelele) and Petie Ronstadt (bass), Lisa manages this with flying colors. The highlight of this CD is the beautifully sung 'Missing You', a self-penned blues that Lisa actually squeezes out of her toes.
Features Doug Hamilton on violin and Michael G. Ronstadt on cello.
I may conclude that with Lisa 'Closet Hippie "a real gem. - Ruud Monde, Review Belgium

Lisa Biales latest folk-blues release, “Come To Me,” is yet another declaration of her amazing artistic ability. One of the most captivating features of this CD is Lisa’s attention-demanding vocals, characterized by passion and power. “So Many Things” embodies the ‘so many things’ that make this record appealing: catchy choruses, great instrumentation, and heart-felt, honest lyrics. “Carol of the Bells” elegantly recreates the choral classic with emotional sincerity and beauty only few covers can boast. What’s more, Lisa shows us that she has no problem going a cappella in “Little Brother,” asserting the beauty of her unaccompanied voice. Produced by some of the best in the business, this album is a must-have for fans of honest folk-blues/easy listening tunes! - Review Xavier for Radio Indie

Listening to the “Yellow Shoes” collection by Lisa Biales is like uncovering one of your favorite toys from your childhood. It’s an escape into a time of comfort and joy, as you'll want to hear it play for hours. Like the cover-tunes of “Swinging On a Star” and “When You Wish Upon a Star” wisk you back to dreams of the past, you won’t want to leave the arms of “Owl Moon”, as Lisa's lovely voice cradles you in wonder. Ironically, Biales rhymes with ‘Alice’. Lisa gently reaches out and leads you through the magical mirror to a land of music boxes, ballerinas, butterflies and unpredictable Cheshire cats. Lisa unveils memorable moments of motherhood in “Don’t Call Your Mama”, where you’re sure to rock with it’s bluesy beat and “Peace and Quiet”, inspired by her son Nolan. I guarantee you’ll hit replay again and again on this track! The sentimental title track, “Yellow Shoes” strikes a chord from adolescence. You’ll frolic along in its playful landscape, surely falling in love all over again with your first love. This is a perfect choice for your family’s music library and one that will create new memories for children of this era. - Celeste Friedman, Songs For Charlie Music
